By now, most people know about the major flooding that hit Nashville last week. Entire neighborhoods, shopping malls and even the Opryland Hotel were devasted by the high water. Some school districts have cancelled classes for the rest of the school year. On Monday and Tuesday, Soles4Souls will distribute over 50,000 pairs of shoes to people impacted by the floods. The work started today when over 50 volunteers spent all day in the warehouse, sorting thousands of new shoes donated by manufacturers. It was hot, muggy and dusty, but everyone chipped in with a smile. McDonald’s served free frappes and Sonic gave 50% off to all the volunteers. The entire city is reaching out to help flood victims. Many people lost their homes and everything else they owned.
