Delicious homemade Italian treats

One of the advantages of the Soles4Souls RV tour is being able to visit with friends when we are in the area. While in Boston, we met with Giordana and Joe, our friends from the Soles4Souls event in Ottowa. Joe made a delicious, traditional Italian bread called focaccine, cooked at one time in stone/clay molds with a chestnut leaf on both sides and put into the cinders to slowly cook stacked on top of one another. Giordana baked  a traditional sugar cake called “zuccheroto”. We ate and talked, then ate some more. Their grandchildren, Julia, Daniel and David introduced us to  “Deluxe Focaccine”  filled with Marshmallow fluff, Nutella and peanut butter!
