Many people spend the weekends mowing their lawn, washing windows and cleaning the gutters. Since we don’t live in a house, our chores are a bit different. Allan spent over an hour on the roof of the Soles4Souls RV (in 95 degree heat) doing minor repairs. He fixed several air vents and diagnosed why our air conditioner isn’t working. Looking forward to Wednesday when the unit gets replaced so we can cool off. Best of all? The air conditioner is still under warranty!

June 13, 2010What do These Shoes Have in Common?
June 13, 2010These pictures have one thing in common…they were taken as we gave shoes to two girls that did not own a pair of shoes. The boots were worn by a six year old in Jacksonville Florida, who borrowed them from her sister. They were easily two sizes too big.
A twelve year old in Denver came to us wearing borrowed, old, slip-on shoes pictured below. With a foot of snow on the ground, the gir’s feet were wet and cold. She was thrilled with the two pair of new and dry shoes we gave her. 30 million children around the world don’t own a pair of shoes. Sad to think some of those children are right here in the United States. That’s why our shoe charity, Soles4Souls, is grateful to shoe manufacturers for donating new shoes to us.
