As we do shoe distributions around the country, people usually smile and thank us. This gentleman in El Salvador was more than enthusiastic since he hadn’t gotten a pair of new shoes in over ten years.

Even though we are back in the US, we have fond memories of our trip to El Salvador. Our host took us to meet some members of the notorious MS 13 gang members. Evidently these men are feared throughout El Salvador, although I didn’t know that until after I had them all pose with me for a picture. I guess they were a bit surprised, but quickly agreed to stand up and smile.
