We Could Have Used More Shoes

While driving down a small street in Santa Ana, El Salvador, we came upon a cluster of houses made out of cardboard, scrap metal and pieces of plastic. This family had no running water, electricity or even a chair inside their house. They loved the flip flops we gave and soon the entire van was surrounded by children and adults, wanting shoes of their own. We gave away as many as we could, along with granola bars, oranges and anything else we had in our backpacks!
