This morning I asked Allan, “What do you think 2010 will hold for us?” He answered “What do you think we can do with 2010?” I guess he’s right. It’s up to us to take action to make our lives what we want them to be. So for the coming year, we plan on seeing what we can do to help Soles4Souls donate shoes to people in need. That means many miles of driving in the Soles4Souls RV, along with collecting, banding, sorting, stacking, organizing and donating shoes. January finds us helping with shoe distributions in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. In February we’ll be in El Salvador, giving away shoes overseas. Sometime during that time period, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, will air with a segement that includes Soles4Souls distributing shoes in honor of a special family. Who knows what will happen after that!

Happy New Year From The Soles4Souls RV Tour
January 2, 2010Hardy Boy and Nancy Drew are on the Case
January 2, 2010We’ve been staying at our favorite campground while in Nashville. The staff are friendly, showers produce hot water and the rates are reasonable. Yesterday we discovered someone broke into an RV very close to our site and stole $10,000 worth of jewelry, plus a computer. The amazing thing is they moved a heavy picnic table right up to a window, broke the glass and climbed in…at 2:00 in the afternoon! This morning, Allan woke me up at 6:00am to tell me he had a theory about where the burglars waited to watch when people left their campsites in their tow vehicles. He may actually have a good idea. There’s an empty lot in straight viewing line of the vandalized RV. The burglars could easily have waited there until they saw the owners leave. Will keep you posted if we solve the case.
Soles4Souls RV Shivers!
January 2, 2010The Clark’s are a pretty hardy family. We’ve skiied on a glacier at 25 degrees below zero and gone swimming in Puget Sound. Yet last night the Soles4Souls RV got a bit chilly. The weather forcast predicted record low temperatures. They were right. This morning our water pipes were frozen, even though we kept the cupboards open. Seeing frost on the inside window convinced us to head to a hotel tonight!
