Did you like the alliteration in my title?
This morning began with a drive to the Schuler Shoe store in Woodbury, Minnesota. If you don’t know where that is, no problem. we didn’t know either until we got there with our GPS. Aaron Lewis, manager of the store, shared how his store collects shoes for Soles4Souls on a regular basis.
Schuler Shoes has been committed to supporting healthier lives through foot comfort for nearly 120 years. They are the oldest family-owned shoe store West of the Mississippi. The company began in 1889 when Vincent Schuler opened the first store on Washington and Broadway in Minneapolis. Today the family-owned business, now in its fourth generation, consists of eight Schuler Shoes, one SAS and four New Balance Twin Cities stores.
After a country style lunch with Mark Granger, director of procurement for Soles4Souls, we drove to the Schuler store in HarMar Mall (Say that five times fast.) They already had six bags of shoes donated and their main shoe drive doesn’t even start until August 4th! One woman, after I told her about our shoe charity, drove home and brought back a pair of like-new shoes. It’s great to have Schuler customers support Soles4Souls!
